Discover Tanglin
Arts Studio
Established in 2007 by former Atlanta Ballet prima ballerina Kathleen Quinn, Tanglin Arts Studio has blossomed into one of Singapore’s premier dance studios for children and adults alike. Nestled within the prestigious Hollandse Club, our studio serves as a cultural crossroads, welcoming both local and expatriate families into a vibrant, inclusive community.
Since 2011, under the passionate leadership of owner and director Katja Paus, Tanglin Arts Studio has continued to thrive. Katja’s journey from parent to director exemplifies our studio’s commitment to community and personal growth. Her vision fosters a nurturing environment where students of all backgrounds can explore the joy of dance, build confidence, and form lasting friendships.
About Tanglin Arts Studio
Located inside the Hollandse Club in Singapore, Tanglin Arts Studio is an international community of local and expat dancers.
We follow Leap ‘N Learn, ATOD (Australian Teachers of Dancing) and Acrobatic Arts syllabus.
At our annual end-of-year show in December, students get the chance to show their families and friends what they have learned and accomplished. This is always a fantastic event enjoyed by both students and teachers.
Besides teaching the correct techniques of dance, we focus on the development of creativity and artistry with our students. Our aim is to instil a passion for dance and performing arts that will assist students in their everyday lives. Many skills that we teach the students benefit them within their school classrooms.
Tanglin Arts Studio has students and teachers of many nationalities from all around the world, forming their own unique melting pot within Singapore. We love making our global students feel at home so they will have happy memories of their time here.

Our Vision
Our vision is to create a school where everyone can access the magic of dance, no matter where they are from.
We have witnessed first-hand how dance can build character, confidence and friendships. This beautiful, enriching sport is an incredible tool to teach body awareness, self-discipline and teamwork. Through our service of teaching dance, we strive to provide exceptional coaching and leadership to our students. While striving to instil the importance of etiquette and manners, we also focus on good self-esteem and positive body image.

Our Mission
As we believe a person never stops learning, we work hard to ensure our approach extends to all our students, from children to adults. We’d love you to be a part of our studio and join our mission to positively reach our dynamic and supportive expat community through dance.

Our Values
At Tanglin Arts Studio, we believe in:
- Support & Friendship – every child should be straight away made to feel like part of the team and part of the TAS family.
- Personal Mastery – discipline and self-motivation are critical ingredients of high achieving dance students.
- Exceptional Experiences – All our students deserve an exceptional experience every time they participate in a dance class
- Teamwork – We’re stronger together and can achieve so much more when we work as part of a passionate community.
- Belief In Oneself – Having a big picture goal for life sets the trajectory of your potential, so set yours as high as you can.

Our Community
Tanglin Arts Studio is home to a diverse and welcoming community of both local Singaporean and international families. Our students come from many different schools and backgrounds and range from complete beginners to more experienced dancers and performers.
What unites our community is a shared love of movement, creativity, and learning in a supportive, respectful environment. We believe children thrive best when they feel seen, encouraged, and confident - and we work hard to create a studio culture where every child feels they belong from their very first class.
Our mix of local and expat families reflects the vibrant, international nature of central Singapore and is something many parents value as part of their child's experience at Tanglin Arts Studio.
